Welcome to CC PAL! Follow this three-phase guide to configure your teacher dashboard, set up student access, and calibrate digital practice to match your small-group instruction.
Phase 1: Teacher Setup (Learning Portal & CC PAL Insight)
- Claim Your CC PAL Insight License: Log in to the Collaborative Classroom Learning Portal. Watch your program-specific Navigating the Learning Portal video to learn how to create a class, claim your license and add the CC PAL Insight app to your account.

Roster Your Classes:
- Manual / Self-Registration: Once you create your classes, add students to each class.
- District SSO / Roster Integration: Select +Add Existing Student to add students to your specific small-group classes.
- Note: Your student rosters from the Learning Portal sync automatically to your CC PAL Insight app.
Phase 2: Student Access & Login
Important: The teacher management dashboard is CC PAL Insight. The student-facing practice app is CC PAL Practice. Ensure students open CC PAL Practice on their devices.

Download or Access the Student App:
- Tablets/iPads: Download "CC PAL Practice" from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Web Browsers/Chromebooks: Direct students to ccpalapp.org.

Choose ONE Login Pathway for Students: Read more about Student Login options here.
- Option A — QR Codes or Direct Links: Inside CC PAL Insight, navigate to the Students tab and select Generate QR Codes or Links. Print the QR codes for students to scan, or copy the direct URLs.
- Option B — District Single Sign-On (SSO): If your district uses ClassLink or Clever, ensure CC PAL Practice is launched directly from your district dashboard. We also support Google and Microsoft SSO.
Phase 3: Instructional Calibration
Set student placements so digital practice aligns your classroom instruction.
- Option A (Via Card Deck App): We recommend using the Card Deck app for instruction! When you set student placement inside Card Deck—changes will automatically sync to CC PAL Insight.

Option B (Via Insight): Open CC PAL Insight, select your class, and adjust student placements and the "Current Lesson" setting. Watch: How-To Video
- For students in grades 2–5 receiving Being a Reader Word Study instruction, placement is based on their grade level (e.g., grade 3 students are placed into Being a Reader Word Study Grade 3). There are two placement options for students in grade 2:
- Grade 2 Beyond Set 5: for students in grade 2 who are not yet demonstrating mastery in Word Study lessons
- Word Study Grade 2: for students in grade 2 successfully engaging in Word Study lessons
- For students in grades 2–5 receiving Being a Reader Word Study instruction, placement is based on their grade level (e.g., grade 3 students are placed into Being a Reader Word Study Grade 3). There are two placement options for students in grade 2:
