What is the rostering/integration process for the new Learning Portal and CC PAL?

Our integration service, CollaborativeClassroom Connect, provides robust options for rostering/data integration, LMS integration, and Single-Sign-On. 

Rostering Data:

At Collaborative Classroom, we’re supporters of industry standards like OneRoster (1Edtech). As we support the standards we believe that we can lower the costs of integration for everyone. While we support paid services like Clever, our preference is to connect directly to your SIS for rostering data. Note: If you are a Clever district, we can connect to your SIS directly for rostering data, and you can KEEP USING Clever as a Single-Sign-On service.

Rostering Connection Methods in Order of Preference:

• Direct to your SIS (student information system)
  • Through a OneRoster v1.1 supported - API endpoint (Classlink is OneRoster, so Classlink is supported through this method)
  • Through OneRoster v1.1. CSV Export - Nightly Automated Push
  • The CSV format we provide to the district
  • Exports of CSV’s you use for other applications you are integrated with - Nightly Automated Push (just copy what you’re doing with other vendors or use the Clever CSV format that you’ve already used)
  • **Note: PowerSchool users will be given a link to follow steps for a direct connection to your SIS. We also support CSV automated transport from PowerSchool
• Classlink
  • Classlink provides a OneRoster v1.1 compatible rostering data set with an API and is a preferred provider with Collaborative Classroom.
• Clever

  • Collaborative Classroom does not support automated rostering via the Clever platform. To ensure a high-fidelity sync without third-party licensing fees, we roster exclusively through direct SIS connections or open industry standards (OneRoster).

    • NOTE: You can continue to use Clever SSO for user authentication! We simply connect directly to your SIS to handle the back-end rostering data.

• Note: if you don’t see an authentication service you would like to support, please let us know and we can typically add more services such as Oauth2 providers quickly.
