This video outlines how to administer the digital placement assessment on the Learning Portal.
Follow these step-by-step instructions to guide you through the process:
Step 1: Locate the Assessment Navigate to your program content to find the assessment and student cards. For extra guidance on sections, scoring, and placement, watch the Placement Assessment in Action video. Check the resource card for required actions like "Record Student Responses".
Step 2: Assign the Assessment Click Assign to students from the action buttons. Choose whether to assign the assessment to an entire class, individual students, or all classes. Set your start and due date range, then click Assign.
Step 3: Access the Assessment When ready, open the assessment directly from the resource page by clicking Go to ClassView Pro. Alternatively, go to the Assignments tab at the top of the page, filter by your class, and select Go to ClassView Pro.
Step 4: Administer the Assessment In ClassView Pro, locate your student, click the three-dot action button, and select Complete for student.
Read the instructions and click Next to proceed.
Check passing criteria listed at the top of each page.
Mark items as correct or incorrect, and record notes as needed.
Review Next Steps after each section to see if you should continue. If passing criteria aren't met, note recommended placements or missed high-frequency words.
To finish, click Go To, select Review/End card, and click Submit.
Step 5: Review Details & Item Analysis Upon returning to the Summary page, click the Details tab to review section raw scores and item analysis. Hover over section headers for details and passing criteria. Toggle Show non-scorable items to view high-frequency word sections and observations.
Step 6: View Recommended Placement Click the Placement tab to view the final recommended placements for all assigned students.
