The assessments on the Learning Portal for Being a Reader, Expanded Second Edition still align with the instructions for those using the classic print materials. If you are still using the print manual for Being a Reader, Second Edition (not Expanded), you can still use the assessments on the Portal without having to adjust timing or instruction. Your print manual will not refer to the new/additional assessments so you would simply not use them. While a few of the texts changed, the focus of the instruction in the lessons did not. The assessments measure the skills taught, not specific content from the stories read. Learn more here.

- Class Assessments: These observational assessments did not change.
- Student Progress Assessments: This assessment still aligns as the focus of instruction did not change.
- Vocabulary Alignment: The instructed vocabulary words remain identical across versions, so vocabulary words still align.

Comprehension Checks for Older Texts: If a Comprehension Check is needed for a text or title that is not part of the new version, they can be found in the "Assessments for Print" section. New comprehebsion checks include:
