At the end of each genre unit in grades 3–5, students complete a culminating activity that asks them to demonstrate what they have learned about the content and genre, summarize and synthesize information in that unit, and extend their learning. This is another opportunity to assess student progress and is a part of the end-of-unit Student Progress Assessment.
