Welcome to Collaborative Classroom! As you prepare for your upcoming implementation, your district or school will gain access to our new Learning Portal.
To ensure a seamless launch on Day 1, there are two key leadership actions required before your educators begin teaching:
- Choose your technical integration path (SSO/Rostering).
- Communicate the transition to your staff using our pre-built resources.
Step 1: Submit Your SSO/Rostering Preference
Before accounts can be created, your organization must decide how teachers will log in to the portal. Centralized technical setup ensures that rosters are accurate and eliminates the need for manual password management.
IT Directors, Database Managers, or Instructional Technology Leads should review the three supported Rostering & SSO options below and determine which one aligns with their district’s technical infrastructure.
Option 1: ClassLink (Recommended for ClassLink Districts)
- Best For: Districts currently using ClassLink for automated rostering and SSO. The process: Secure data sharing via the ClassLink Roster Server.
- Select the ClassLink option: Complete this form.
Option 2: CollaborativeClassroom Connect (Standard Automated Rostering via OneRoster or SFTP)
- Best For: Districts using SIS API connection or SFTP file transfer to automate user and class creation, or a custom method to send roster data. Read a Support Center article to learn more. Note: Collaborative Classroom does not support automated rostering via the Clever platform. You can continue to use Clever SSO for user authentication! We simply connect directly to your SIS to handle the back-end rostering data.
- Select the CollaborativeClassroom Connect option: Complete this form.
Option 3: Self-Registration (Manual Set-up)
- Best For: Smaller districts/schools that prefer to have teachers manually create their own accounts and classes using a registration code.
- Select the Self-Registration option: Complete this form.
Step 2: Access and Utilize Your Staff Communication Kit
Research and experience show that educators are far more likely to engage with platform updates when they come directly from their own school or district leadership.
Once your school or district has submitted your SSO/Rostering preference, you can immediately begin using the Email Communications Kit below to notify your staff. This kit contains three professional, copy-and-paste email templates strategically timed for different phases of your rollout.
- Email Template #1: Transition Announcement (Send in May/June): Signals that improvements are coming, to reduce "change fatigue" before this school year ends.
- Email Template #2: Initial Access to the New Learning Portal (Send during Back-to-School): A step-by-step guide to help your staff log into the new Learning Portal for the first time.
- Email Template #3: Optimizing Your Digital Experience (Send in Fall): Helps teachers explore Learning Portal benefits once they’ve settled in.
We’ve created different versions of the Communications Kit: one for each Rostering/SSO path. Select the kit that matches how your teachers will log into the Learning Portal:
- New Customers: Communication Kit for Districts Using ClassLink Package: Choose this kit if your teachers will access the Portal inside your District ClassLink LaunchPad.
- New Customers: Communications Kit for Districts Using CollaborativeClassroom Connect Package: Choose this kit if your teachers will sign in to the Portal via Google, Clever, Microsoft, or other supported SSO methods.
- New Customers: Communications Kit for Districts Using Self-Registration Package: Choose this kit if your teachers will manually create Portal accounts using an activation code.
