If you administered the Being a Reader or SIPPS Placement Assessment, follow the steps below to learn how to locate details from the assessment, where to enter placement information and how to export a report.
Select the "Details" tab. This shows you question-level information. The initial view will show only graded portions (i.e. those portions dealing with decoding). Toggle on "non-scorable items" (in this case, high-frequency words) if you want to look at those sections as well.
Follow along across a student's row until you come to the section they did not pass (hover over the sections to see passing criteria). Click on the score to see student responses and note any patterns in what they missed for that section. To view the recommended placement, select "Go To" then select "Section X: Next steps." Note the recommended placement based on not passing that section here.
Exit the assessment, then select the "Summary" Tab. At the far end of a student's row, in the "Actions" column, select on the three dots, then select "Give Feedback." We recommend adding the suggested placement here (i.e. Beginning 21).
4. Once you've entered all the students' assessments and added their placement in the "Give Feedback" field, locate the Export button. Select "Item Analysis Export," then "Send." This will email you a csv file that file will include the placement notes you entered, and you can sort the students by their suggested placements to form small groups.
