SIPPS is a multi-level, foundational skills program designed for students in grades K–12 that develops the word recognition strategies and skills that enable students to become independent and confident readers and writers. A Placement Assessment determines the student’s instructional point of need. The systematic scope and sequence provides a structured-literacy approach to instruction through explicit routines focused on phonological awareness, spelling-sounds, and high frequency sight words. When used as Tier 2 and Tier 3 instruction, SIPPS accelerates progress so that students are able to efficiently close the gap and engage in grade-level reading.
