The Caring School Community program was designed to be implemented by the classroom teacher. The program helps teachers create warm, safe, and disciplined classroom environments where students develop the skills and dispositions they need to interact constructively with others. While the program begins each day with a Morning Circle, the relationships and skills that are fostered within those Morning Circles continue to grow when the program is integrated throughout the day in the classroom, on the playground, and in all aspects of the school. With guidance included in the “Things to Do This Week” portion of the Teacher’s Manual, teachers create an environment that encourages the application of these skills and dispositions in all settings. With the teacher facilitating the program, the seamless integration throughout the day is most effective.
