Choice Time is a weekly activity in grades 2–5. It is a time for students to practice decision-making and social skills while engaged in activities of their choosing. Teachers select the activities which can be reading and writing, art, playing board or math games, building, tech or projects from other parts of the day. It is also a time for you to observe and assess the students' natural social, emotional, and ethical behavior. After it is introduced in Week 2, it is preferably scheduled on Friday afternoon. The Overview for the week, beginning in Week 3 indicates that it takes the place of a Closing Circle.
