Do I have to begin with Section A of the SIPPS Placement Assessment or can I begin with a more sophisticated section based on what I know about my students?

For students in grades 2+, we recommend that you start with Section A of the Placement Assessment to ensure accurate placement for all students.

For kindergarten and grade 1 students, we recommend that you start with Screening for Letter Names (which appears just before Section A) to verify that students are ready for the SIPPS program.
