If you are using SIPPS Third or Fourth Edition and have students who are new to the SIPPS program, use the appropriate Placement Assessment for the student’s grade level. There are two different Placement Assessments, one for K–3 and one for grades 4 and above.
At the end of each section of the appropriate Placement Assessment (K–3 or 4–12) an “If the students…” section explicitly identifies the SIPPS level and lesson in which to place a student based on their instructional need.
