The high-frequency words correspond to the list of sight words in SIPPS Beginning and Extension Levels. (The SIPPS program is the recommended Tier 2 intervention for students who struggle in the Being a Reader program.) These words were selected from the 1,000 most frequent words in school material compiled by Carroll, Davies, and Richman (American Heritage Word Frequency Book, 1971).
