If a student moves from one class to another during the school year, teachers can use Migrate Data to transfer the student’s existing assignment data into the new class.
This ensures the student’s previous assignments and progress follow them when they join a new class.
When to Use Migrate Data
Use Migrate Data when:
- A student changes teachers during the school year
- The student joins a new class that uses the same course or program
When the course matches, the system can transfer the student’s assignment data from their previous class into the new class.
Migrate a Student’s Data
- Sign in to the Learning Portal.
- Your screen will open to Classes
- Open the class where the student is now enrolled.
- Locate the student in the class roster.
- Select Migrate Data next to the student’s name.
The system will move the student’s assignment data from their previous class into the current class.
Important
- Data migration works only when both classes use the same course or program.
- If the courses are different, assignment data cannot be transferred.
