Every unit ends with a section called End-of-Unit Considerations where you will find suggestions for sending student work home reference to a Family Letter. These can be found on the Learning Portal.
In the early units, there are suggestions for letting students decide which pieces to take home. In the later units, you will find advice for sending published pieces home. It can also be helpful to occasionally let students take their writing notebooks home to share their free writing with family members. Young writers need an audience, and the more we can extend the audience for our students the better.
