How do I familiarize myself with the conferring materials for grades 3–5?

We recommend the following to help you familiarize yourself with conferring in grades 3–5:

  • Read the Individualized Daily Reading portion of the “Teaching the Program” section in the Program Overview of the Implementation Handbook. This section details how independent reading, Small-Group Reading, and Book Clubs all work together during IDR time. 
  • Go to Instructional Support or Assessment in the Implementation Handbook and read the conferring-related material.
  • Go to the Learning Portal and explore the IDR resources for your grade level.
