Why do some of the wall cards in the SIPPS program have long vowel mnemonics and other wall cards have short vowel mnemonics?

There are different purposes for the wall cards that come with each program. In SIPPS Fourth and Fifth Edition Beginning Level, the Learning Letter Names component is provided to support students who do not know 21 letter names. The purposes of the wall cards in this level are as follows:

• The Alphabet Cards are intended for Learning Letter Names instruction.
• The Spelling-Sound Cards are intended for SIPPS instruction.
