The Topic Weeks in grades 2–8 may be done in any order. They are designed to be used when they are relevant to school events and students’ needs. While each teacher at a grade level may select their own Topic Week, there is collective power of all classes at a specific grade level engaging in discussions around the same topic. Support teachers and staff also may relate to the topic in their interactions with students from that grade level.
While the weeks may be completed in any order, we recommended that the Social Issues weeks are interspersed with Character Building and School Life (2–5) weeks or the Personal Relationships, Wellness and Creativity, and Positive School Experiences (6–8) weeks.
