The changes from SIPPS Third Edition to SIPPS Fourth Edition are to the mnemonics only (the images and phrases that remind students of the sounds letters represent). We took this action to align the mnemonics of SIPPS with Being a Reader, Second Edition small-group reading instruction. The instruction in SIPPS did not change. If you are using Fourth Edition and Third Edition materials together, click here to get an overview of the differences between the two editions.
Additionally, Learning Letter Names is included in the Fourth Edition of the SIPPS Beginning Level package.
If you are transitioning to SIPPS Fifth Edition from a previous edition, you can learn about the updates here: What do I need to know if I am transitioning to SIPPS, Fifth Edition from a previous edition?
