Smartboard Disconnects Learning Hub When Using Microsoft Internet Explorer or Edge Browser

CCC always recommends using the Google Chrome browser for best performance and compatibility. If you are required to use Microsoft Internet Explorer or Edge browsers be aware that there is an issue that causes the Learning Hub to log off the user when using a Smartboard device. The following instructions should prevent this issue from occurring but does require changes to the browser’s security settings.  

Internet Explorer 11

  1. In Internet Explorer, click on the gear icon and select Internet Options.
  2. Select the Security tab. Uncheck the box next to Enable Protected Mode Note: this will require you to restart Internet Explorer for the setting to take effect.
  3. Click on the OK button. Click OK again on the security warning.
  4. Restart the browser.


  1. In the Edge browser, click on the three dots icon at the right end of the menu bar and select Settings from the menu.
  2. Click the button Choose what to clear under Clear browsing data.
  3. Uncheck the box next to Cookies and saved website data.
  4. Restart the browser.


Verify that you can now use the Smartboard without disconnects.
