Class Definition

Last Updated: Aug 30, 2016 11:30AM PDT

The term “class” is used in various ways when discussing CCC digital products, and it may be important to understand the differences (primarily for district technical staff).

The CCC data model has a structure in which the SIS Class (as defined via import) serves as a “parent” to an associated ClassView Class and/or SIPPS Homeroom Class (in the SIPPS coordinated model). When performing an import, ClassView classes aren't automatically generated; when a user is assigned one (or more) SIS Class(es), the user is guided to create a ClassView class based on the structure of the SIS Class.

Consequently, it is possible for the SIS Class and its associated SIPPS Homeroom and ClassView class to be "out of synchronization" with each other, depending on how the user makes changes to the enrollments after import.
